Course Aims: The aim of this course is to round off the volume of knowledge necessary for passing the Final Exam (PAAZ). It provides for a systematic approach to further grammar aspects, and develops vocabulary and language skills so that students can communicate both verbally and in writing in everyday situations at the Intermediate level. The course is aimed at the enhancement of all four linguistic skills: Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing. Attention is paid to functional language (i.e. at the doctor's, polite requests, comments in spoken language, polite phrases etc.). Students are encouraged to develop their self-study skills. Acquired Skills and Knowledge: The development of vocabulary and language skills so that students can communicate both verbally and in writing in everyday situations at the Intermediate level. Students are encouraged to develop their self-study skills. Examination Requirements: 80% attendance record. Active participation in the classroom. Completion of verbal and written assignments on time. A demonstrable mastery of the subject matter, vocabulary and grammar. The successful completion of interim tests and the Final Exam.
